Clicking in Handset Speaker

"To resolve it, I had to make sure that the audio player was stopped before yanking out the earphones. Pulling them out while the playing music to take a call was causing my problem. Also I believe that the software updates resolves this. I think its a software bug, and not the plug."

I already have the most up to date updates but I have this problem and can't get rid of it. Is there anyway to reinstall the OS and if so can I do this without wiping all my contacts, memos, and etc.

PLEASE HELP I'M IN DIRE NEED.
