I accidentally downloaded over 300 contacts from my laptop into "Contacts" on the Blackberry. How do I delete the majority of them (but not all) without going through each one on the Blackberry which is tedious! Can i do it when I'm linked to my laptop?

Open your BlackBerry Address Book.
Press the Menu key > Options...
Do you have more than one Address Book listed... one named Default and any other?

I am afraid that the easiest method will be to delete them one-by-one, only because if they are all in the same Address Book, only you know which records you don't want on your BlackBerry and which you want only in Outlook.
IF you have a recent backup of your BlackBerry from before this sync, you could wipe your entire BlackBerry address book (delete them all) and then restore the previous backup to your handheld.

If you have done so,... via the PC and your BlackBerry desktop software, it would likely be saved to your My Documents folder.
