Cracked shell.

My Curve has a cracked shell and I don't know how to get it fixed. AT&T said it was a RIM issue. They say its not. Is it something I can fix myself? If so, where do I get the parts?

Thanks,

Re: Cracked shell.

You can have those colorful face plates from different sources. You can consider placing an order online from any online store like, ShopBlackBerry, BlackBerry Source, BlackBerry Gadgets etc.

Re: Cracked shell.

Those are great links. Thank you. It is my faceplate that is cracked. All I see at those links are skins and holders. Am I missing something. I need to find a replaceable faceplate.

Thanks again.

Re: Cracked shell.

No one has mentioned anything about the manufacturers warranty. :smileyhappy:  Is your phone still within the manufacturers limited warranty (1 year from purchase date I believe)?  If so, this item should be handled by RIM.  I would just get in touch with them and request a replacement part.  If I'm wrong on any of this someone please correct me! :smileyhappy:

Re: Cracked shell.

I appreciate everyone jumping in here. Blackberry said it is not under warranty because it was normal wear and tear and not a faulty product. The link that bifocal posted is close but it is the face plate that surrounds the screen and I can't find that part.

Re: Cracked shell.

Man.  Unless you really believe you were hard enough on your device to make it actually crack I would be a little more persistent with RIM.  That sounds a little shady to me, however, I realize I don't know you or your device so I'm purely speculating.  I just know how big business works.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Cracked shell.

Hi,

If you are experiencing cracks in the faceplate, I would replace the full housing. It may be defective as well,

The price difference is not that much.

My opinion.

Thanks,
