My charger port is broken and I have to charge battery externally.  What are my options to transfer my contacts and pics to another device and/or back-up on a thumb drive, laptop, etc.?  I was unable to save to SD card; if that is an option, what is the process?

Blackberry protect.  This is a free online backup.  The link is in my signature.

Page 8 shows what it will backup:

if you have a SD card, you will have to get a sd reader to connect to the computer.
