Hey there.

Bonjour.

It's best to post everything you have tried.

Have you tried Safe Mode?

Re: Curve 8520 'Nuked'

Yes, I've tried SafeMode, but nothing happened.

So, at first, I've tried to pull the battery out, and reinsert it, it didn't work.

Then I started to search on Internet for some help, and I found a guide about Nuked BB, I started to follow each steps.

First, I opened the App Loader application, clicked Next, and connected my BB via USB cable, without the battery, and then USB-PIN:UNKNOWN appeared, I immediately clicked Next, but it gave me an error.

And I'm stuck at this point, I didn't reach the next step yet.

(I hope my english is correct and that you can understand me.)

Re: Curve 8520 'Nuked'

You will need to wipe and reinstall the OS.

1. First locate your carrier and the OS versioin file you wish to use.

http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

2. Download the OS file from step 1 to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.

3. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also check the following locations for vendor.xml files and delete any instances of the file:

On Windows Vista/7 navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)

On Windows XP navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)

4. If you're simply updating the OS to a newer version skip this step. If doing a clean OS reload use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup) then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed) then proceed to next step.

5. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Thank you, I just had to delete the 2nd "vendor.xml" and it worked ! It's now working perfectly.

Hello,

I'll jump in for JC...

You find your installed version via this:

  • KB23393 How to check the model number and version of installed BlackBerry device software on a BlackBerry smartphone

And you find choices from carriers via the official download portal:

But, given your short description ("problem with my 8520 not reloading" doesn't give us much to go on), there may actually be other thing you need...so please clarify exactly what the "problem" is, and perhaps we can be of more help.

Good luck!
