I have a Curve 8520, and using a remote mail server via IMAP. If I delete from server and handset it still stays on my computer. Likewise if I delete from the PC it stays on the handset.
Please can you advise what I am doing wrong.

Please explain what you mean by "on my computer". Are you using Outlook to view your email on your computer?

Hi
Thanks for answering my question. I have a Dell desktop PC running Outlook 2003 and windows XP with latest service pack. I used to have a Nokia Smartphone and when deleting an email on the phone (and selcting the correct option) it also deleted the email on the PC.
With the blackberry this does not happen (when selecting handset and server it stays on both the remote email server, and also the PC). Using IMAP
Thanks

That's what I thought. Your Outlook is not tied to the email server to reconcile messages, and personal BIS accounts do not reconcile messages. It is working correctly as designed.

It's really not a BlackBerry issue. Follow the trail here:
If you delete an email on the handheld BlackBerry device, it deletes on the server (as long as your on-device delete options set to do so) >> the message is deleted on the email server.
If you delete an email on the email server, it is deleted on the handheld BlackBerry device.
If you delete a message within Outlook, it does not connect to the server to delete the message from the server, does it? If it does, the same message will delete on the handheld. And in reverse, deleting the message on the handheld and/or thus the server, doesn't automatically delete the message from your Outlook on the PC.
I am guessing you are using something like ActiveSync on the Nokia device?

Ensure that you have enabled 'Deleted item' under 'synchronisation option' of email set-up in device. If it's disabled, you will not be able to sync any activity.
And even so, it will not be able to delete from Outlook.

Thanks - If I delete an email message from a PC using outlook it is deleted from the email server and my other PC that is using outlook - but NOT on the Blackberry. If I use my Nokia:
if I delete on the Nokia then the email message is deleted on both the email server and in Outlook 2003 and vice versa.
It seems to be a blackberry issue.
I followed up on the suggestion of another supporter and the delete function in emails is selected. All I can say is the blackberry is not syncing with outlook / email server but everything else is (and other smart phones)
