Notice mid-2012 several messages re 'track-pad not working'. About same time mine gave up - cursor jumping around so impossible to type message. Battery pull helps for few min.- then gives up again. Over warrantee and Apex(provider) won't help. Carrier is Telus. Notice no one solved problem except by new phone. Is it possibly software v.5 out of date? Thanks any advice as have given up using this phone and back to old one now!

As you already tried a Battery pull , You can try this Knowledge Base suggestions , if that fails then you might have to replace your device Trackpad :

Try it and let us know if that help.
