When I put my blackberry in its holster and then take it out it locks up and refuses to unlock the only solution I have found is to remove tha battery - any better solution ?

What I recommend is to have Vodafone look at this.

I'd hate to take you through a software reload to end up with the same issue with the holster.

On removing from the golster it shows the options of unlock, emergency, cancel but won't allow me to select any of the options and will not respond to anything without taking the battery out

Does it respond and let you enter the password after a battery pull?

Yes once it  reboots it works after putting in the  password  as normal - until the next time - it  is intermittent  so it might be fine when taken out of the holster 3 or 4 times then locks up again

What happens if you boot the device in safe mode? Remove the battery. While holding down the back key reinsert the battery. Continue to hold the back key for another 20 seconds or so. That should put it in safe mode. See how it works then. If it works then it is likely a 3rd party app causing the problem.

Ok Great!

That means you have enabled security locks.

Do the following :

On the home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.

Click Security > Password.

To set a password, click Set Password.

clear the "Lock Handheld Upon Holestering" checkbox and save the settings.

Thats it!

Now put inside the Holster and check you it will be working fine and will not lock again in holstering..!
