Curve 9380 - Battery draining after loading updated BlackberryID software

I have a Blackberry Curve 9380 with software v7.1 Bundle 2931 (v7.1.0.1098) When opening th browser, I got "Unhandled exception: the bridge has been destroyed". I loaded the most recent BlackberryiD software (

net_rim_bbid_daemon v7.3.1.11) and this fixed the browser problem, but the battery is now draining from 100% to 0% in about 4 hours. Previously a full charge would last about 3 days.

Has anyone come across this or can recommend a solution?

Thanks

Chris

chrisalis, try this first... with your 9380 connected to the wall outlet charger, and the BlackBerry powered on, remove the battery and reinsert to reboot. This will often reset the on-device battery meter (which over time can become off-sync with the actual battery charge). You may need to try this a couple more times the next day and the next.

Don't allow your battery to drain all the way to 0-10%, top it off during the day when you can, even for 15 minutes.

Re: Curve 9380 - Battery draining after loading updated BlackberryID software

Excellent post by jsanders10, thanks a lot!!!!

Tried your solution yesterday and left the phone charging to 100%, it's now lost 5% in 5 hours, which is about what it did before. Saved me the expense of a battery.

Cheers

Chris
