Curve Email setup and no pin

Hi, I have bought a second hand model and all works except cannot set up email.  Also I dont know the pin.

In the set up screen there is only one option and that is to set up an enterprise email account.   All I want to do is set up a gmail account and I have been unable to do that in this menu option.    So how do I set up a personal email?

Re: Curve Email setup and no pin

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider? You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as additional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.

So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.

To find your PIN, in any text box type "mypin" without the quotation marks and add a space after.

or, Options > About.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.   The carrier is Giffgaff and I think I have a data plan but cannot see that confirmation. I have asked!     BUT I can browse internet which I could not do previously!.....M

On your Manage Connections screen, click on the Services Status.
What is the status of the BlackBerry Internet Service?

Re: Curve Email setup and no pin

Allmost accept this as a solution but the carrier Giffgaff will not update the service until the current data plan has expired in 28 days time.   But the goodnews is that I have got gmail working on opera browser and it is very convenient except that the icon is buried on the home page.

Do you know of any way to take off the Blackberry browser icon and replace it with the Opera icon?     That would make access so much easier!

Buried on the home page?

You can move icons around on the screen to make it more accessible...

  • Hover over that icon
  • Press the BlackBerry Menu key
  • Click on MOVE
  • using the trackpad, move the icon to where you want it.
