My 4th BB8530 had a sudden and rapid decent to the floor, whereupon it ceased all functioning.
My BB8530 is broken.
I have several IPD extension backup files, with 860 contacts.
I am upgrading to an Android phone.
I have tried MagicBerry, ABC Amber, and they both want to export my contacts one at a time. Not possible with 900 cotacts.
The desktop manager doesn't show me any viable options, and since my BB is broken, many options in the desktop manager are not able to be accessed.
I am very disappointed with RIM for locking my contacts in a file that has almost zero aftermarket support.
This concerns all of us, every BB user!!!
How do I unlock all 900 contacts?

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
In regards to your hope that RIM will see your message -- these forums are a user-to-user support channel, not a user-to-RIM conduit. As such, it is unlikely that they will see what you have written. If you desire to ask other users for specific assistance, then this forum would indeed be the correct place for that.
As for your specific issue, you seem to be under the mistaken thought that the backup file is useful for other than it's intended purpose -- it's purpose is to backup a BB and, if needed, restore another BB. No other purpose of it is intended. However, you have found some after market tools that can attempt to do what you desire. Had you been synchronizing with a desktop PIM, you would not have this problem at all.
