Desktop manager won't update

Installed v.4.7. With the program opened I click on "check for updates". The updater opens and appears to completely go through the update process to download v.5.0. I click install and it seems to go through that process as well but when I reopen the desktop manager it is still v. 4.7. What's up with that?

Interesting...I didn't think that DTM auto-updated to 5.0, but one never can be sure. You should simply download 5.0 and install it atop your current version:

I'll have to keep it in mind for now. Currently have issue with my network that prevent from doing the download now. Thank you.

OK, this is what happens:

This window pops up to inform of the update to desktop manager.

I then click install and the following appears.

When this completes, then I get this:

Again, I click install and the same window from #2 appears for just a few seconds then the above window comes back again.  This behavior is like the program is already updated. However it keeps popping up to tell me I need to update. This is crazy! What's up with this?

BTW, I have v4.7 installed on my computer and the automatic update manager says v5.0.

Odd error...but you can get past it. Rather than use the auto-update, just download the updated 5.0 from here and install it:
