Disable Touch Screen?

Is there any way that I can disable the touch screen on my Curve 9380?

 

It fell out of my pocket and got a small chip, which over a few days spidered out and now whenever I turn on my phone, the screen just starts pressing itself where the cracks are. If I could disable the screen and just use the button, it would be a hassle but I can't afford a new BB since I JUST got this one :smileysad:
