Hi, I was just wonderin if it were possible to do this? I still want messages to be sent to me from apps I just don`t want the notification from the app, I`d like to open the app then see that I have a message, preferrably for whatsapp. It gets a bit annoyin gettin all the notifications. I have searched online but no luck, ehow and wiki say to highlight the icon of the app then open it and press menu and then click options but that does not work.
Thank you so kindly

Surely someone knows somethin :/
Of course someone does, but waiting only an hour or two for a response is being a tad impatient.
For WhatsApp, on your homescreen go to Options > Sounds and Ringtones > Profile Management.
Scroll to your active Profile, let's assume it is set to NORMAL.
Press the Menu key > Edit.
Scroll down to Other Applications.
Scroll down to WhatsApp > New Message.
Set the notification tone, volume, vibrate as you prefer.

OH, ok, you didn't say that.
No prob. Please understand that in forums, waiting for a response up to 24 hours is accepted behavior. To 'bump' your post beforehand is considered bad etiquette. I don't notice that you've asked that question in this forum before.

Try this, I am not sure this will disable the red asterisk on WhatsApp....
Open your Messages folder > Options > Message Display and Actions.
UNcheck the Display New Message Indicator.
Try that and see, you can post back here to confirm.
