E mail spurting

My e mails have stared coming in spurts a couple to several hours apart, as well as having to resend out going several times before it actually goes, this is happening all over town so it's not a tower issue

Re: E mail spurting

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Good luck!

Re: E mail spurting

Well, your next steps will be even more drastic -- wiping your BB, reloading your OS, wiping and reloading clean (BBSAK), etc. All of which are drastic, destroying all data and installed apps. So, if you wish to proceed with those, let us know.

I'm a bit disappointed in the support you received from ATT...after all, you PAY them for 100% of your service and 100% of your formal support. If something is not operating inside the bounds of "normal", they are 100% responsible to resolve it for you, including escalating into RIM if necessary.

Then again, you are very economical with your words in what you report here, so I'm having to make a ton of guesses and assumptions.

Let us know.

Re: E mail spurting

Well, that remains disappointing. You see, you pay ATT for 100% of your service and 100% of your formal support...it seems that they keep fobbing you off, and not staying with you to ensure that they are living up to the contract they have with you. Also, they have the power to escalate, at no cost to you, your case into RIM if they cannot solve it...you have no other free path by which to receive any formal support from RIM. It is so amazing to me that they are able to fob you off like this...they really should be sticking with you until this is solved, not just blaming the device and giving up.

Further, I can't give you a next step yet as there are many types of WIPE, so I'd need to know the exact one they took you through. Your economical words aren't enough to guide me.

Did you buy your BB from ATT? If so, then they really are fobbing you off totally...

Let us know.

It seems to be working normally today. Stay tuned.

Re: E mail spurting

And some of us volunteer our limited free time here to try and help out other kind souls...but efficiently doing that depends on receiving useful information, so as to reduce the amount of guesswork. I'm glad it's now working better for you.
