OK....as previously stated...very new to BB, and am getting up to speed quickly thanks to you guys!  Just sent email to my BB with Excel attachement.  Problem is that I cannot open it up on my BB.  I am obviously missing some key steps.  Any ideas!  Thanks again!!!

I have a Curve 8330 with 4.3 operating system on Verizon. 

Please let me know what you are using.

I am able to open spreadsheets on my attachments. I open the email, scroll to the attachment, click the trackball on it,

and select open attachment, it takes a minute then opens. If it is a large doc, you will see it flash receiving more data.

Is this the way you open it?

There shouldn't be any problem in opening excel files in BB. Can you please let know how you're trying to view the file? What is the file size?

thanks for the quick reply.  I am using an 8310 with v.4.2.2.170 on ATT.

Following your instructions: I open the email, scroll to the attachment, click the trackball on it,

and select open attachment, THAT IS WHERE IT STOPS AT.  I don't have the option of opening attachment.  I am only assuming it should be under the menu, right?  It is not there.  Do I have some setting incorrect?

You are doing it correctly.

Have you opened one successfully in the past?

Try a battery pull with the phone on, leave it out for 30 seconds or so, then replace let it reboot.

Try to open the attachment again

Let me know if this works!

No, haven't opened an Excel attachment before.  Only had my BB for a week.  But have successfully opened other attachments.  Just now have removed the battery for 1 min and rebooted it.  The email does plainly show the attachment is there, but when I hit the Menu button, I don't have "Open Attachment" as an option. Weird!

More ideas?  Really appreciate your assistance!

Do you have the ability now to send yourself a different excel file and see if there is something wrong with the original attachment?

WELL, FOUND THE PROBLEM AND SOLUTION MYSELF, THANKS TO YOUR PUSHING!  IT TURNS OUT THAT I WAS SENDING MYSELF THE EXCEL ATTACHMENT FROM OUTLOOK 2000, WHICH FOR SOME REASON, DIDN'T WORK.  WHEN I SENT THE SAME EXCEL FILE THRU COMCAST, IT OPENS OK.

AGAIN, THANKS FOR BEARING THRU THIS WITH ME.  APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL HELP!!
