Hello and welcome to the f:smileyhappy:rums!

Can you start a new thread with this question superjwill?  This will help others with the same problem you have.  What email are you using?

Re: Email

I just set up my BB email two days ago.  It is connected to one gmail account.  It is on all the time.  I saw where you said there are not options - it is a push system.  So is there a way to "turn it off" and only turn it on when you want it to check for your mail?  (In other words I'd like the default to be "off" and turn it on only when I want/need it.  In fact, I'd be happy with simply going to the web browser and going to Google Mail and checking it when I want to)  Can you help me?

Thanks

Re: Email

Hi and welcome to the forums,

You can do this two ways. One gives you better flexibility.

You can delete the account on the Blackberry, so you never get the emails. You then check by browser.

Navigate to the Welcome to Gmail page Link below, bookmark it, and sign it to check email.

The second may be better. Set a filter for your gmail address on your BIS site, so that any mails addressed to

Yourname @ gmail.com gets blocked. Now if you decide that you will be needing the emails temporarily on your

BB you just remove the filter, intend of recreating the account. Either way will work.

I have left you two links, one for deleting the email, and one for the filter.

Thanks,

Bifocals

Re: Email

Hi Corbin,

I see it's your first post Welcome!

You have posted at the end of a resolved thread. No one will look here to help.

Go to the front page of the forum here, and use the grey bar across the top on the right

side you will see new message. That will give you your own thread, where everybody

can help, OK?

I'll get the link ready for you while you move.

Thanks,

Bifocals

Re: Email

[ Edited ]

hellooooo! I was wondering if you could help me with this..

I received an e-mail from donotreply@blackberry.com saying that I had to update my email password using the email configuration app because my emails were not being delivered to my BB... the thing is that I don't remember my password update my account to start receiving my emails again....

So I clicked on the "Forgot Your Password?" link, and a message said that they would send me my password to my device again, but if I'm not receiving emails.. how am I supposed to get my password?

And this happened 2 days ago, my password was not sent via sms or anything

Re: Email

Nicolas,

Please remove your personal information from the post for security reasons.

The password is being sent as a text message, try looking for it there.

Thanks,

Re: Email

I have an enterprise account (business) and a GMail account (personal).  The Blackberry conveniently puts all the GMail into the GMail folder, but it is also in the Messages folder.  I would love it if each set of emails could be delivered only to one folder. Is there a way to do that?  If there is a way to deliver emails to different folders based on To: addresses, it would be easy.  It is a Blackberry 8310 on AT&T.  Thanks.

Re: Email

Welc:smileyhappy:me to the F:smileyhappy:rums

I am not sure if the BES blackberries are set up different or not , I am BIS.  This is how I put all mine in one folder.

Go to your main screen. Go to Message icon > menu key > options > General options > scroll down to SMS/EMail Inboxes -click combined!

H:smileyhappy:pe that helps!
