Emails from my Curve turn into symbols on a BB or MAC

If I send an email from my Curve to one friend, whether on her BB or on her MAC, the subject is in English, but the body of the email is in symbols.  Anyone seen this before and have a suggestion on how to fix it?  Thanks,

Please use plain text.

Re: Emails from my Curve turn into symbols on a BB or MAC

Your BlackBerry sent emails are SENT in only simple text format. There is no HTML encocing or the like.

The recipient needs to check their email server settings or something. i don't know off hand what setting or what would cause that, but likely something in the encoding of mail reader your friend uses.

I dont' know why they are received on that BlackBerry that way. Ask that recipient on one of your sent emails to open the email, press the Menu key > Show Text. Does that make that one readable?
