Error Synchronizing BB 8330 with MS Outlook

I have tried several times to synchronize my calendar with Outlook and I get a dialog it says "Error encountered. Error code - 0x80040fb3. Check documentation.

I have made a search in BB web site but I do not found anything.

Can any one give me any tip.

Thanks in advance.

Using desktop 4.6

XP pro

Same problem.

Solution (and I'm still not synching successfully!) has taken over an hour now and I'd like to think of myself as a little faster at computer stuff than Aunt Tilly...

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB01451&sliceId=SAL_Pub...

I'm posting videos Youtube on this time consuming and, so far fruitless, procedure under

pleabargain

I've put the error code (0x80040fb3) in the description of the videos so that should help a little. Hopefully, the BB dev folks will build better error catching for corrupt characters, namely cyrillic (which is what I think is borking my sync).

All the best and good luck,

Dennis

Videos on Youtube.

Still not solved.

Been at it for nearly 90 minutes.

last chunk of tif.log reads:

 ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 48 Direct Connect ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 49 Categories ==> len=29, val="Leisure Exhibit Moscow Sep07\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 60 Picture ==> len=506, val="MIME-Version: 1.0\0aContent-Type: Multipart/Mixed;\0a  boundary="---...--Boundary-00=_CDYZRAAE2ROOO49D7TH0--\0a\00"
ILTIFGetField.2 (rc=0) 60 Picture ==> len=506, val="MIME-Version: 1.0\0aContent-Type: Multipart/Mixed;\0a  boundary="----...--Boundary-00=_CDYZRAAE2ROOO49D7TH0--\0a\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 61 Yomi Company Name ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 62 Yomi First Name ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 63 Yomi Last Name ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 64 Birthday ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 65 Anniversary ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) _appData ==> len=0, val=""
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) _subType ==> len=2, val="0\00"
RejectOutcome, ec=4019
TIFTerminate

 --------  ILLOG_close

If you can tell me what that means and /or how to resolve this issue I'd appreciate your help.

Note: The contact file in question. The photo that was attached to it is now GONE from outlook.

Source of problem?

I don't know.

All help appreciated.

Just for the record though, since trying to upgrade from 4.5 to 4.6 my life with Blackberry desktop manager has been miserable.

Thanks

p.s. For the record. I deleted the offending file and the synch worked.

Sorry, not a video guy!

Contact gone from Outlook, as in disappeared, or you deleted it?

Thanks

Re: Error Synchronizing BB 8330 with MS Outlook

Don't have to be a video guy... :smileywink:

I'm just hoping that other might get some benefit from all the pain I've been through with blackberry desktop recently.

The contact is still there.

As I mentioned above:

The _photo_ that was attached to it is now GONE from outlook.

Can you interpret the error message in the tif.log?

It's late here.

Hopefully you'll have a good quick easy fix for this problem when I wake upou?!

:smileyhappy:

Sorry,

I thought the log was from the video you were trying to make!

It's going to take a while.

Thanks

Re: Error Synchronizing BB 8330 with MS Outlook error code (0x80040fb3)

Hoping you would have had an answer by now...

:smileysad:

the last part of the Blackberry intellisync tif.log reads:

 ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 48 Direct Connect ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 49 Categories ==> len=29, val="Leisure Exhibit Moscow Sep07\00"

ILTIFGetField.2 (rc=0) 60 Picture ==> len=506, val="MIME-Version: 1.0\0aContent-Type: Multipart/Mixed;\0a  boundary="----...--Boundary-00=_CDYZRAAE2ROOO49D7TH0--\0a\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 61 Yomi Company Name ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 62 Yomi First Name ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 63 Yomi Last Name ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 64 Birthday ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) 65 Anniversary ==> len=1, val="\00"
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) _appData ==> len=0, val=""
ILTIFGetField2.3 (rc=0) _subType ==> len=2, val="0\00"
RejectOutcome, ec=4019
TIFTerminate

How to fix it?

Why is it broken?

How can I prevent it from happening in the future?

How can Blackberry developers prevent it from happening in the future?

thanks,

Dennis
