Fatal error while updating?

My phone was acting very silly for a while, trackpad was being crazy and my keyboard would work then quit entirely. So I plugged it into my computer to do my updates, midupdate it disconnects itself and I get an error. " Blackberry has encountered a fatal error, try again later" I check my phone and instead of service bars, it says off. I'm not sure if it's fixable or what happened. But If someone could help me, or give me suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.
