File email message help

I am new to Blackberry and have been having issues filing emails to other folders. One email had teh file in the menu and I filed it inot teh folder I wanted but all the others do not have teh file option. I did all I could with teh desktop software and tried all I know.

Is there a way to create folders and file them without using teh destop synch software? If there was I wouldnt synch it, I would just use teh blackberry all teh time.

Any ideas would be helpful, If I can get ti to work on all messages with teh desktop synch software I woudl do that too. Its jsut not workign fo rme.

Thanks in advance.

Re: File email message help

Yes I am. I started all over and still cant ge tthe emails to show "File" on teh menu. I am sure I am setting one thing wrong thats messing it up.

the folders are there on the blackberry. I can see them and they are empty. So even when I synch its not "synching" and adding the emails from the outlook account.

I will keep trying. Anyone else?

Thanks

Re: File email message help

Its not BES, I apologize, thats how new I am to this. I did have it work with one email, The menu had teh "file" when I went to move it I noticed there were two folders wiht the same name and I only had one. So I made a change to get one folder and I never got teh fle capability back. Not sure what I did.

Thanks

Re: File email message help

You won't be able to synch emails via Desktop software.

Please restate the folder question?

Re: File email message help

hello Hostile17.

so if I understand correctly :
  • you want to deal with Blackberry Mail only, no desktop thing.
  • you have some mail folders that appear in your Blackberry Mail application
  • you receive all your emails in the Inbox
  • you want to dispatch some mails so a folder, some others to another. In Blackberry vocabulary, it's called "file a message".
  • that worked for just one email, in which the Menu key gave you the option to file the message
  • for any other message, the Menu key does not show a "File message" line

Is this right ?

Re: File email message help

Hi Xandrex,

Yes, you are good at deciphering. Thats exactly it.

I wanted to have a folder on the blackebery to fild messages. SO I woudnt have them all in the inboxe and could hide them.

I learned to live with it and have just seperated then email,s and messages and just hide the sent items and it seems to be a good way for me.

Not sure what I was doing wrong. I will still listen to any suggestions you may hvae. Thanks very much.
