Hi,

My trackpad keeps freezing, I have tried: taking the battery out leaving it for a night, turning in off for a day, turning it off and taking the battery out. I give up now, I have tried all sorts and this was a gift for my birthday a month ago, I'm quite disappointed as this was my first blackberry and I don't think I'll be buying another one.

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

• KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, what happens? If the behavior does not present in SAFE mode, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

If the behavior does present in SAFE mode, then there may be other things necessary for you to attempt.

Hi, i tried loading my phone in safe mode as you suggested as i have been having this problem, however when it comes to the page were i say ok or reset for safe mode, i cant press ok because my track pad doesnt work at all. i tried twice and all that happens is the phone gets to this page and then just restarts itself again.

my phone has been crashing for about 4 weeks now, but it has slowly been getting worse. it just turns itself off after the screen going white. it then takes a while to sort itself out (it usually does this 3 times in a row first!) It also crashes everytime a phone call comes through or i make a call so i cant speak to anyone!

now the track pad just wont work at all, i have messages still coming through however i cant look at them. i have tried taking the battery out, have done this about 100 times in the past couple days! i have also tried restarting in safe mode, updating the software and it just wont work! i have 2 kids and really need to be able to have a working phone - i am paying a fair bit of money every month for this phone and all as vodafone suggested is i use there buy back service get some money and pay the rest for a new phone! please can someone help

I'm starting to have the same problem. I had a smiliiar problem on a BB Bold. Loved the phone but when it got older and I used it a lot, the phone seemed to get hot, then the screen went white and it was all over until it cooled off.

I have noticed the 9300 getting warm lately under heavy use. It's only a year (or less) old. Not sure that's the problem with the track pad freezing but the freezing has gotten worse over the last few days.

Seems that if I let it sit for a while with the battery out and let it really cool off, the track pad comes back to life.

None of that is acceeptable though. Any other fixes? Short of buying another one?

I've been trying rolling my finger on the track pad for a while so it can "get up to speed" it worked for a day or two but know it's gone dodgey again
