Frozen during backup prior to software update.

I am updating the software on my Curve 9360, and it is in the 'Backing Up Your Data' part at the start, but has stopped at 13% of the overall backup process.  It has been stuck at this for over an hour, any tips on what to do? If I turn it off/take the battery out, will I lose the data on my phone?

no worries, managed to sort it out myself my leaving it turned off and on charge overnight, when I woke up this morning it had sorted itself out.
