Try www.crackberry.com.  Stay away from www.handango.com.

Re: Good apps for BB

Both of those are good... Handango.com is a reputable vendor as well, I have a couple apps purchased from them.

Still, there are SO many free applications I would look at first

Here:  http://www.blackberryforums.com/aftermarket-software/

and here:  http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/3rd_Party_Application_List

Look around before you buy, there are just so many free apps that are good. Out of the 20-25 on my device, maybe two were purchased.

Instead of just good locations (thanks by the way!!)  How about some specific suggestions?

Handango is not good.. their customer service is horrible (nonexistent).. their new website is a debacle.. I purchased several software titles last weekend that did NOT unzip properly after download (corrupted)... tried 3 different downloads, same problem.. trying to find a telephone number was difficult, at best.. when found, at least 8 calls that were not returned.. e-mail customer service (a "Tiffany") could not READ or COMPREHEND my dilemma..

Finally received a telephone call late Tuesday acknowledging Handango DID have a problem... smoooooth. Just what I tried to tell them on Monday.. They offered a $5.00 coupon that expired in 45 days.. whoopeedoo. I purchased the exact same software from Crackberry, same price, smooth download, smooth unzip and smooth install.

The "Tiffany" said "We're a small company and cannot call customers." Well, sweetie, you'l always be a small company with that attitude. I was right and I know it. I've been using PCs since late-1984, well before you were born, and I KNOW what I'm doing.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

I recommend two:

Vlingo, voice recognition program to speak emails, text, etc.  Works great! FREE!!

 http://www.vlingo.com/index.jsp

Berry Locator: If you lose your BB, send an email to it with a keyword, all the alarms and led's go off.

It can display an email with your reward and contact information. The best part? If your GPS is enabled

it will send you an email with the coordinates! Very Cool! $6.95 one time fee.

Thanks,

Bifocals

I'm with JSANDERS ...Handango has a very good rep!

Re: Good apps for BB

How about something for news, sports and weather.  Something quick, I don't want to spend a lot of time searching through the app.  Something that can give me a quick glance at the weather, sports, maybe local news.
