Sorry, if you never backed up the data it's gone.
You are back to the base state of the device. You will have to reset all your preferences again.
As far as your address book, calendar, memo, and tasks, you can do a one way sync with the
desktop software to load the device. I would suggest doing them one at a time, in case there is an error.
