Hard reset, now missing icons and weird

I just removed battery to put in sd card and when it came back on the screen was all black and white and some of the icons have only ? marks where they used to be.  Emails, contacts and #'s are still there, but icons have bugged out and background is all white.  Any help??

Re: Hard reset, now missing icons and weird

Hi and welcome to the forums,

I would take out the sd card and reinsert the battery first, and see if your device acts normally.

Second please tell me what phone and what operating systen you have on the BB device

OPTIONS ABOUT 4.x.x.xxx

Please let me know.

Thanks

Re: Hard reset, now missing icons and weird

Funny thing is I did not have the right card so I never put it in.  I have also tryed a five minute battery out reset, with no results.  The phone is BB 8330 curve, do not know operating system???? How do I find out, since icons are so weird??

Re: Hard reset, now missing icons and weird

Ordinarily you would go to OPTIONS ABOUT and the OS would look like 4.x.x.xxx.

I do not know your experiance level, but are you sure the battery contacts are clean and not blocked.

A SLIGHTLY DAMP cuetip with isopropyl alchol on both the contacts and the battery contacts. (Be careful to keep it just barely moist, and proceed at your own risk) :smileyhappy:

Is the battery in solidly?

Is it charged?

Re: Hard reset, now missing icons and weird

You need to re-install the software for this device.

Go here to get the one specific for your carrier - bottom of page. (make sure u download the latest one for the device - usually the first one on the list for ur model)

The push this software out to the device. Instructions can be found here

Re: Hard reset, now missing icons and weird

Thanks for the info.  While waiting I went for it and restored the last back up file that I made.  I have lost some info, but nothing major.  Just glad to see my home screen back to normal.  THANKS
