'Hard' reset ?

How can I return the device to its 'as supplied new' condition ?  i.e. wipe all settings/records etc and begin setup again as though a factory default machine ?

You'll need to state more specifically what you want to clear out.

You can use Options > Security > General Settings > Menu > Wipe Handheld, AND that will wipe ALL personal data, settings, mail, contacts, etc., BUT it will NOT reset to factory default any OS upgrades you might have made to the device, if you have. Have you?

So, what do you need done?

You can try either JL.Cmder (google it) or CrackUtil (http://forums.crackberry.com/f35/crackutil-85617/). But be careful, these programs can brick your BB if not used correctly.

Re: 'Hard' reset ?

Thanks J - as you can probably see from my earlier post:

'Newbie-Can't set up 8310 - menue items missing !'

I think I've got into a hell of a mess installing/setting up the unit. Ergo if I return to 'as bought' I can start over.

I'm not worried about loosing data as there's only sync's from Outlook on the device
