Help! Enter "blackberry" to continue :(

I had my phone in my pocket..

when i took it out and looked at it it said "enter "blackberry" to continue"

if i enter blackberry will my phone wipe itself?
or does it say that when you get the password wrong 5 x's?

I would like to know exactly what happens when you attempt to enter the password over and over. *ie. in your pocket.

does it let you go to 10x's and then you enter blackberry and it wipes your phone?

or does it give you a chance to enter blackberry and then enter your password correctly before wiping the device?

and if it is going to wipe is there any way bypassing it?

No, it should do that at the 5th incorrect password entry.

You should have five more chances now, and instead of masking with asterisks, the characters will be spelled out.

After the tenth incorrect password entry, it will wipe. Expect it.

No, there is no way to bypass it..., BlackBerry security is, well, SECURE!   Smiley Happy

My tips:

a. don't carry it in your pocket.

b. do a complete backup OFTEN, I think you are going to need it.

No, perhaps you misunderstood me.

After five tries, you type BlackBerry... that is the warning.

Five more, *poof* ,

Yes, very secure.

And not for pockets. Get a sleeve  Smiley Happy

Re: Help! Enter "blackberry" to continue :(

It is not protecting against pocket dials. It is protecting your personal information from being retrieved by someone who finds or steals your BB.
