My sister has recently given me her Blackberry Curve 9320.
My Blackberry desktop manager has registerd/recognised the phone to be a Blackberry 8520 (which is wrong).
As an 8520 I can't downoad the apps I want for my phone as the apps aren't compatible for an 8520.
How do I get me my desktop software to recognise my phone the actual phone that it is - a 9320?
Can any one help please?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
That is very strange indeed...please check, in the installed apps to the computer, for any BB Device OS packages...if there is one for the 8520 installed, that may be causing the confusion...so please remove it (and any others, if they exist). You want, installed to your PC, only the Desktop Software...no OS packages (yet...).
If that fails, then I suggest this thread:
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Further, it walks you through installing, also to your PC, the proper BB OS package so that (hopefully) the Desktop Software can then properly recognize your 9320. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Good luck!
Good luck and let us know!

Thank you so much for your help.
The 'problem' was much simpler than that.
The 9320 is my sister's new phone.
'Turns out before leaving on holiday, she gave me her old 8520 phone in a 9320 box with the 9320 manual.
Lol.
I have a different problem with Blackberry Apps world not downloading now.
I'm trying to fix this.
If I can't I will post the problem.
Thanks again for your help.

What are you doing to try to fix this AppWorld problem?
Are you connected to a WiFi router
Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
