I recently purchased the BlackBerry 8300 World Edition phone and found the online tutorial to be quite useful. Unfortunately, I find myself stomped because I want to add contacts so that I can commence conversations on the BlackBerry Messenger network. Can anyone advise how to add contacts and send a message to them?

Babb

Click on your BB Messenger icon.
Highlight Contacts > Press menu (key to the left of the trackball)
Click on "Add Contacts"
This will take you to the address book.....Scroll up to the top, click "Use Once"
Hit the menu key again and select...."Request by Email" the type in their email address. This will send the request to the selected recipient.
Or
choose "Request by Pin" if you already know their pin #
In either case the request must be accepted by the recepient before you can have them added as a contact.
They will show up as "Pending" until they accept.
Hope this helps,
John

In Addition:
Once the invite is accepted, they will show up in your contacts list once you open BB Messenger. To start a conversation, just click on the selected person and start typing.(the typing window appears at the bottom). You can also send files between contacts. It's a cool little program. I use it more than I thought I would.

Thank you very much, the information you provided was extremely helpful. With the e-mail address does the e-mail account have to be a blackberry account?

How are you suppose to know their pin? Is the only way to get it is by asking them?????? (if so thats weird)
Either way, I sent the email to 2 people. One never got it and the other accepted it but when she accepted it, the messenger told her its checking to see if I will accept it! I was the one who sent it from the beginning.
Needless to say both are still pending and its not working.
HELP!

I have a BB8310, and I am new to BlackBerry. When I invite [my wife, also has a BB] to the BlackBerry messenger, and she accepts the name stays in the "Pending" list. Same with me after I accept her invitation.
