How to setup BIS accounts

[ Edited ]

For those that don't know the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) allows you to configure up to 10 email accounts that you can receive mail from on the Blackberry. In order to set it up, go to your wireless provider's website and access the Blackberry Internet Email setup. You have options to login or to create a new account. A list of providers and their BIS sites can be found in the following list:

Website                                                   Wireless Provider

When you access the site just click the "Create New Account" button, then accept the terms on the next screen that appears. On the next screen you will need to input some of the Blackberry's information - usually the PIN and IMEI number. This information can be found on the Blackberry by going to Options | Status. Once the PIN and IMEI information is entered you will reach a screen where you can enter up to 10 internet email addresses and passwords for the accounts you want setup for mail delivery to the Blackberry. Once configured you will receive a congratulatory message on the Blackberry confirming your account has been successfully set up.

Once logged in you can perform tasks such as sending service books to your device, changing your signature, or creating email filters.

Hope this helps.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Then you should contact Rogers for assistance (you can find their contact information by clicking, from their BIS login page, the "Require Assistance?" link). Or perhaps create the account via your device BIS interface (Setup > Email Settings).

Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

"IT"...what is "it"? And, since you've read this thread, what did O2 tell you when you contacted them for assistance (as recommended earlier to others)?

Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Only your wireless service provider can authoritatively tell you if you have (or can have) a BIS-level data plan as they are the entity that would deliver it to you. See this FAQ for general guidance:

Given the hundreds of carriers in the world with dozens of plans each, it's impossible to track what any specific plan from any specific carrier might or might not include. You really need to decide exactly the services you desire and then talk to your carrier about obtaining a plan with them that enables the services you desire.

Good luck!
