I'm not sure what you deleted, but it couldn't have been ALL your icons in simple step, it's just not possible. Some of the icons can be deleted one by one, but not all.
Perahps you hid them? On the homescreen, click Menu > Show All, so that Show All is checked.
Look in all your folders for applications, set up, etc.
If still nothing, try changing themes. Options > Themes, and select a theme other than the one selected.

Do this:
Press the green dial key to enter your Call Log.
Press the Menu key > Options > General Options . Scroll down to Dial from Home Screen, and set that to NO.
And SAVE.
Now, return to your homescreen, blank or whatever.
Press the O key.. (Oh, not zero), to enter the options menu.
Scroll down to Themes and change themes.... any luck?

JSanders,
The same thing happened with my Blackberry Pearl 8110 (all icons missing from the home screen), so I tried following the steps you gave laurenvanwag for the 8330, but I got stuck at "General Options". It appears that the 8110 does not have a "Dial from Home Screen" option. Any suggestions on what I can do??
Thank you very much in advance, I will be sure to click the white star at your post!

The 8110 doesn't have the options to turn off dialing from homescreen.
I don't know know what else you have done:
--Reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, et
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see them listed there?
If nothing else, you can do a reset to factory...
You will lose all data and personal information, do a backup first in Desktop Manager.
Read this RIM Knowledge Base article to reset your device to the factory settings.
