I can't recieve any e-mail

I just bought a Blackberry 8330. I set up Blackberry e-mail with no problems. I have a Sympatico account that I set up, and I'm able to send e-mail from it but it won't recieve any. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it won't recieve??? Thanks in advance.

Re: I can't recieve any e-mail

Go to Options > Advaned > Service Books. Do you see your email listed there as [CIMIME] and as [CICAL]?

If you don't, you don't have the proper service books yet.

1. From the device go to Options

2. Select Advanced Options

3. Select Host Routing Table

4. Select menu, then 'Register Now'

Re: I can't recieve any e-mail

1- Ok, delete those SD entries for the sympatico account,

2- While powered on, remove the battery and reinsert it to reboot the BB.

3. Check again to confirmt the sympatico email accounts are gone in the servcie books.

4. Do the HRT register again, receive the Registration message and try again. It can take 15-20 minutes for mail to be pushed to your BB.

Re: I can't recieve any e-mail

I tied that, and gave it some time. I recieved 1 e-mail but should have recieved at least 20. There still must be a problem. Any other suggestions.

Re: I can't recieve any e-mail

Honestly, if it received one means then it is working.

Do these emails also download to your PC to Outlook?

There is a setting in Outlook to "Leave Messages on Server".

For MS Outlook 2003 (other version are similar, you just need to find the setting):

Outlook > Tools > Email accounts > View or Change existing > next.

Highlight the email account > Change > More Settings.

Advanced Tab > Leave a Copy Messages on Server

Check that box.

  • You will need to perform this edit for each Outlook email account you have.
