Impossible to enter in an application inside the menu

Hello,

 

first I must tell you I'm French so sorry if I make mistakes!

 

I have à Blackberry Curve 8520.

when I am inside the menu with all the icons, I can't enter in any of them. if I push the touch pad, nothing happens.

I don't know what to do. I suppose I should try to reset the device. but I don't know how to do that, specially with this problem.

So please help me!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
