Internet Browsing

Hello,

I am unable to access internet on my BB 9300 handset. I have activated the internet service pack from Vodafone but I dont see the Blackberry browser option in the main menu. I am only able to find browser option through which I am unable to access browse. But my configured email account is working on the same device. Can someone suggest ways to resolve this.

Thanks,

Digu

Re: Internet Browsing

In my main menu, I can only find "browser" logo where as my mobile service customer care folks have suggested that there will be additional logo "blackberry browser" in the main menu. But I am unable to see it now even though I do remember seeing this option when i bought my device at the beginning of this year. Hope this clarifies things.

Re: Internet Browsing

Your 9300, What is your Operating System loaded to your device? Look at Options > Device > About, third line down beginning with a "v.6.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

It does.

On the 9300 OS v.6, you will not have separate browsers, just one unified browser.

Re: Internet Browsing

Thanks.

But I am not able to figure out whats the issue with internet access. I get an errot msg "Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data service". I have tried hard reboot of the phone but I am facing the same issue. The data service provider team from Vodafone is also unable to figure out the issue. They gave me an alternate sim to try out in my device but even then I am getting the same error msg. My configured email is working fine though.

Re: Internet Browsing

Are you connected to WiFi at this point, if so please turn off your WiFi and let's test it.

After the WiFi is off:

  • On your Manage Connections screen, click on the Services Status. What is the status of the BlackBerry Internet Service?

Re: Internet Browsing

Try this,

  • open the browser > Options > Cache Operations and delete the browser cache and history.
  • Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
  • Now, try the browser again.
