Is there a feature on blackberry to know if sms message has been read?

is there a feature or an app that will allow me to see if someone ha read or diverted the sms . if so what ??????????

Open a text message (sent or received), press the menu key, select options; change the "delivery report" setting to "on." Then exit and if prompted to, save changes.

So if I send a text I will know if they have read it or if it has diverted?
