LED light stopped working

I noticed this morning my LED light has stopped working. So when I get texts, emails etc I am only notified by a vibrate.

I had a Buzzmepro app, which I have uninstalled but its still not working.

Help - thank you

Re: LED light stopped working

Look at your Options > Screen/Keyboard > LED Coverage Indicator. Is that set to yes?

If not, set it YES and save... just to test and see if you have the green covereage indicator, as a way to trouble shoot and see IF the LED is working at all?

Does it blink green?

Re: LED light stopped working

Thanks J Sanders, I've done this and its still not working. I did a reboot with the BB on and the light went red so it must be working. I've also gone though my profiles and checked as well and the all say yes for LED too.

Strange.

Never thought I'd be so annoyed that a little flashing light isn't working!!

Re: LED light stopped working

To perform a test using the hardware diagnostic tool on the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
  2. Select Status.
  3. On the Status screen, type test.(you won't see any text entry area, just type t e s t)
  4. From the menu on the Device Self Test Application screen, select Start.

Your device should go through a series of test, including the LED flashing.

Tell me what you see.

Re: LED light stopped working

Heh, too bad.

OK, well since the device is less than a year old, I would recommend returning it to your retailer where it was purchased for a warranty return.

Otherwise, you might fix it with an OS upgrade, if you want to try that.

The latest official released for the 8900 is in the link below, with instructions.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8900-series-discussion-javelin/210313-latest-os-8900-4-6-1-4...

First off, using Desktop Manager, do a backup of your device.

Re: LED light stopped working

I had the same problem and after a while I figured out that whenever your in sleep mode the led does not work, so go to your clock and click for more options and look for the option "Exit Sleep Mode" and this should solve your problem...
