That's a partial help. I'm trying to identify a small icon that looks like a circle with a cross in the middle of it. Kind of light a gunsite. It's in the top left of my 8330 Curve, just under the time of day.

Hi,

This is the GPS indicator second from left under time.

The bar to the left is location on. If you select 911 only, the bar is gone.

Is this what you mean?

Thanks so much for the quick and accurate response. That is exactly what I was referring to. Now...what is the significance of the GPS icon on my screen? Is the GPS of any use to me or is it just so BB can find me to deliver emails?

The GPS is used with map applications like bbmapps, Google maps, ect.

Email is not directed by GPS.

The Indicators simple shows the status is in, and it's not just for 911.

If you are on Verizon it is disabled unless you use VZnavigator.

A month ago an icon appeared on my Curve 8330 screen that I never saw before.  I've searched the phone for messages, text and email and cannot find I have one. 

Here are pictures of the icon.  I cannot find anything in the manual that shows this exact icon.

What is it and how do I clear it?

I believe that is the idicator that you have a BB Message.

I got the same icon. Did you find out where the message is and how to delete the icon?

I've got the curve 8330, and this icon just started popping up during phonecalls while using the regular earpiece attached to the actual phone. It goes away when I put it on speakerphone... 

I'm not sure what it means or how to make it go away.

It's the blue and black rectangle with the diagonal line of white asterisks through the middle.
