MS Outlook sync fails: "Folder is no longer part of system data source..."

I searched the forums here and other resources... it seems my situation is unique, as I found nothing in the BB forums to help me.

I have Windows Vista Enterprise edition, with Microsoft Outlook 2007 SP1.  My email is a Windows Live account through Office Live, which I believe is a web-based email account. Which means, in order for me to get email in Outlook, I have to use the Microsoft Outlook Connector

When I look in Outlook, because it is using Microsoft Outlook Connector, it does not show a .pst file.

When I go to sync using Desktop Manager, it goes through the Wizard and gives the error: "Folder is no longer part of system data source or the folder could not be found", and I am never able to sync successfully.

I do not know how to reset the folder location because I'm using Connector.

The Doc ID : KB15812 does not apply in my situation.

I love my BB, but am paying a lot for a data plan, and if I'm unable to sync Calendar, Tasks, etc. with my Desktop, it's not a lot of help or benefit to me.  I would love to have support on this, whether it's through the forum or a phone call on how to do this (provided it's a Moderator).  :-)  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB11157&sliceId=SAL_Pub... 0 208136599

Unfortunately there is no support for the Outlook connector.

This is how you get the Outlook to be a viable Field in the choice of PIM to backup:

All functions of desktop manager must be run and installed as Administer with Full rights

Thanks,

Re: MS Outlook sync fails: "Folder is no longer part of system data source..."

Hi i just bought a new CrapBerry, i cannot sync with my Outlook too, even after spending a precious time reading this forum.

I always get the same message : Folder is no longer part of the system data source or the folder could not be found

I was able to sync in seconds with my Sony Ericsson W, my Palm, my Pocket PC... everything Sync exept this crap phone.

So you should bought a real Smartphone instead of this.

Regards, sorry for my poor English.

Re: MS Outlook sync fails: "Folder is no longer part of system data source..."

Bifocals et al

Greetings.

I am also desperate for some help on this.  My situation is exactly the same as described by Kristi, but unfortunately she does not appear to have come back with a reponse as to how/whether she fixed her issue.

I have:

Windows 7

BB Curve 8520

A hotmail e-mail account which I have connected to Outlook 2007 via Outlook Connector

I am recieving e-mails on my BB, but cannot delete them on the PC wirelessly or connected via the USB.

And I cannot update my Outlook Calendar or Contacts - one to the other - either.

I read the list of 10 things that you helpfully posted as possibly being the problem, but am completely unsure as to how to proceed from there.

I cannot set up the Intellisync because I get the same error message that Kristi got after having ticked all the boxes and set the preferences. "Folder is no longer part of system data source...".  Tinkering in the "Registery" is something that is probably beyond me,so I don't want to try if there is no need and make things worse.

For me, the e-mailer facility is useless without the ability to sync and update Calendar and Contacts - that's why I bought the device.

I it possible someone could be just a little bit more explicit and directional to a complete novice who would really apppreciate some help (after 72 hours of frustration)?

I really would be grateful.

Mark - London.
