I have a bb curve I get service from Virgin mobile usa ..when I get a msm or sms from a friend with virgin mobile my messages are encripted can anyone Help

As a newbie, I have been ploughing through instructions, booklets, web info etc etc. Assuming that you have encryption disabled under Options>Security, maybe your friend is sending messages that are encrypted, maybe inadvertently

Make sure you have encryption turned off in Security and check Firewall settings permit everything including SMS.
If that doesn't work it will be best to talk to Virgin and/or BB. Let us know the outcome.
