Minimum Volume Too Loud

I have recently purchased an 8520 as my first blackberry. I have found that the volume settings for the alarm abruptly jumps between the 4 settings. The media player has an incemental control so the device can do it. Am I just missing a setting somewhere?

Open your Clock > Menu key > Options and set your Alarm volume options there.

I have found that option but it is still very loud. I'm looking to see if the can be halved.
