Mishap removing IT policy

[ Edited ]

I just got my blackberry and since it was used by a business before, it has the IT restrictions on it. I went to this website:

http://www.removeblackberrypolicy.com/directions2.htm

I wiped the blackberry and entered a new password when I wasn't supposed to.

The phone is very unresponsive so I tried using the desktop manager to restore the backup file.

That didn't work, does anyone know how to help me out?

Thanks a lot.

Edit:

It fixed itself, but is there any safer way to remove the IT control?

Re: Mishap removing IT policy

yes in my opinion that way is junk.

my way is simple however your desktop manager must be version 4.7

do an advanced backup keeping only your important personal databases

you open command prompt

type:

cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

press enter

type:

loader.exe /resettofactory

press enter

after its done booting, restore your backup
