My 9360 wont connect to blackberry desktop manager

My phone asks me where i want to charge, Usb or media sync. and my computer asks if i want to open the files but really all i want to do is use desktop manager.  Ive tried the Device manager method, ive uninstalled and reinstalled i dont know what to do, can anyone help me please?

Have you done a battery pull yet?  If not, give that a shot.

Open desktop manager first, then try to connect the phone when it says "connect your device"

Is there another computer you can try this on?  Has it ever worked on your computer?  Another option is to take it to the store to have it looked at.

Oh yes ive just realised its blackberry desktop manager 6.0.1 not recognising my blackberry i downloaded v.5 and it works perfectly thank you for your help

I have a blackberry curve 9300 and when I installed 6.1 Active desktop I get an error when starting the application and I can not synchronize with the PC.
Where can download a previous version of Active Desktop?

Is this download a virus? I get a message that ESET is an undesirable application Win32/InstallCore.D

Any link to download version 5 from RIM?

Cnet is a trusted source. Your virus scanner is probably reporting a false positive.

I am so disappointed with Blackberry right now.  I have been trying to get an answer as to why my "lastest and greatest OS, brand new phone" will not respond to BDM.  I have tried it with a three Macs and four PCs.  It WILL NOT back anything up even though it goes through the motions. It WILL NOT scan for updates for new OS.   The calender function now displays thousands of duplicate entries and when I try to dlete them they are just as quickly replaced. I have tried just using one calender to sync with, oh wait a minute, I can't do that because the bloody phone won't sync with any computer.  I really have had enough of trying to stay loyal to a Canadian company but this is plain ridiculous.  I have recieved no help whatsoever from blackberry support.  If anyone, has any idea or who has heard of someone that might have met someone who has an idea on what the fix is for this please relay that message.  Thank you, hope is dwindleing, there are other smart phones out there.  Iain
