My annoying blackberry!!

hello, i wondered if someone could help me please. My phone had been randomly flashing for no reason, so i went under messages and it would disapear. I thought it was strange that i havent recieved any sms messages for a few days, and i spoke to my best friend on the phone and she said that she hasnt had a reply from me for ages. I worked out that my phone was flashing to say that i had a message but it wasnt actually coming up, so i cant read my messages. I have tried deleting my messages but that didnt do anything. Its very annoying and i dont know what to do. Please can someone help me.

Re: My annoying blackberry!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!

Re: My annoying blackberry!!

Thankyou for your reply. I have tried this and it has made no difference. Also have taken sim and battery out for a few hours and then put back in and still makes no difference. It suddenly stopped on Thursday.

Re: My annoying blackberry!!

OK...I next recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: My annoying blackberry!!

I have done this and put my phone into safe mode. There is a theme I downloaded the other day that I want to get rid of. But it only lists the 'precision zen' theme. How do I delete the others?
