I agree that the ringtones are not loud enough. Different ringtones play at different levels. You can get ringtones from all sorts of places on the web but it is nearly impossible to know how loud they will be. You can try downoading a song from a site like limewire and using that as your ringer. I find them to be quite louder but I still don't know if you will hear it over a tractor. Do you use the vibrate feature or does the motion of the tractor make this useless?
Also there is a third party app called BB alerts, it cost $12.95 but has a 7 day free trial. What this does is creates an audible alert when you miss a call or message. Perhaps this will help if you did not hear the phone ring but you do end up with a moment of silence afterwards to hear the beeping.

I was hoping for some help/advice before I return the Blackberry. I got this new phone fromo Verizon(sales talked me into it) I'm not convinced I need the phone with all the features. DOn't feel like paying $30.00 per month for internet access. My problem is that I need a LOUD ringtone(I drive a tractor trailer) nothing on the phone is loud enough. Can i put excel spreadsheets onto it ??? PLease help
Your 8330 should be able to VIEW your excel spreatsheets. As far as the loud ringtones, try using a bluetooth headset, that way the alert of the phone ringing is right in your ear and be heard well. I am a firefighter and use a good headset. I can hear the alert loud and clear over the diesel noise and even the radio transmissions.
Hope this helps....

Pardon for my IGNORANCE, how hard and how would I take the excel spreadsheet off of my PC and get it to my blackberry?? I tried the software , but to no avail it doesn't seem that easy or is it ?? I also use a Jawbone headset , but don't like to always keep it in my ear.. If I set it up , will it ring and vibrate at the same time? This has been a greta help. just still on the fence about weather to keep the phone or not.. Got 26 days left.. Any more advice would be great..

Email the spreadsheet to yourself and you will be able to open it on your BB. You won't be able to edit it though.
As far as ringtone volume, there are no boosters for the tones. If you have them on HIGH in options that as loud as it gets.
Maybe for the tractor, getting a dash mount would allow you to see the flashing screen on the phone as well as keep the device closer to you, allowing you yo hear it better.
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.
I'm sure there are cheaper ones on the market
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advise, I will be looking into that mount. As far as emailing it to myself??? Don't I need that internet packasge from verizon???? I'm still not sold on if its worth the extra $30 per month to do that.... Would I be able to do more with the 8330 if I did hook up ?? Maybe you would know this answer, I have seen Battery doors with leaving the speaker exposed, I assume that this would make it louder????
