No Blackberry Browser and I can't put my email in....

I've just got a Blackberry 8900 and I only seem to have a hotspot browser and not a blackberry browser and so I can't look at blackberry help!

I also can't set up my email. I only have one option and that's the "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server"

 

I've tried resetting in the host routing table in options but it hasn't worked. Any ideas?

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account? You must.

 

Then you  will get the icon for "personal email setup".

 

If you DO already have that Data Plan:  resend your service books from your carrier BIS site.

Wait... Please go on. I am currently having the same problem. I have already set my email account with blackberry internet service, have downloaded the service book, contacted my service provider, who is totally clueless as to how to help me. I am now hanging and in desperate need of your help.

@mpb1610 so your on BIS? as oppose to the threadstarter which is on BES? have you check the options in your browser and see if there is an internet browser in your options? or you only have hotspot browser?

Yes, Iam on BIS. Fortunately, my BB email settings have finally been corrected and am now receiving my mails, etc. This is after I raised hell with my service provider. They forgot to inform me that they still have to send me the BIS settings, since the javelin does not have an email set up icon, as compared to the other BB models, or so I was told. They finally did all the adjusting from their side, which took almost 1 week after I availed of the BB additional plan from them. Can you imagine that? Anyway, thanks again for the speedy reply.

haha... that's the usual problem with the telco. if you still have any concern just post here. i think people here in the forums are faster to respond than the telco. unless it requires additional config from the telco. :smileyhappy:
