Re: No browser configuration service book entries. Whats is this

Hi there!

I suggest the following steps:

1) Register HRT

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > blackberry_logo.jpg (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your carrier to see where they are in the process of shifting your BIS account from your old BB over to your new one.

Re: No browser configuration service book entries. Whats is this

I'm not sure I understand your question. Service Books come from your carrier to your BB...so I guess that it's both...

Please perform the steps outlined above...hopefully that will resolve your issue.

Hello and welcome to the Forums!

And, when you attempt the steps noted above, what happens?

I suspect that you do not have an adequate data plan from your carrier. Even if you are connected via WiFi, there are some services that your carrier and RIM still host -- and those are not free, even if you access them via WiFi. Therefore, you must have the proper data plan from your carrier in order to use those services, regardless of using them over the carrier network or via WiFi.

Good luck!

Re: Please please please Help me " No browser configuration service book entries"

I have exactly the same problem.  There is not browser on the BB and despite my provider , Optus Australia, checking the contract, send new service books ad nauseum, hard rebooting the phone, still no joy.  Advanced options/ browser just shows "Default browser cinfiguration: with a thin blue line on screen right"  Thats it!   FUBAR?  Unit receives emails OK, can load opera and make that work but of course i need the BB browser for OS travel.  Grrrr.  Have reloaded the SW etc etc , spent 4 hours on the phone to the provider and all to naught!  Hemp please.

Re: Please please please Help me " No browser configuration service book entries"

Im having the same problem with DNA an internet provider in Finland and the worst is that they have neverseen a BB or even heard of it...no one has been able to help me. I did upgrade to internet service paying3E a month. Nothing works just basic cell phone service. I have had my phone from the US with Tmobileand I love it! But over here it seems you are punished to have something other than Nokia.

Help!!!

Kiitos
