Not connecting on the server e-mail

1.I can't connect my BlackBerry9360Curve on the server e-mail.

2. Keyboard light are turned off all the time

Somebody could help me? This is my first experience with BB

In regard to your phone's issues, please start off by removing the battery while the device is ON as this fixes common software glitches. For the email, Kindly make sure you have the Blackberry Data Plan from your Carrier and it is active. Go to the Setup icon from the homescreen and choose Email Accounts.
