OS version question and you tube question

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I have a curve 8310 from AT&T which is about a year old.  a few months ago i was able to watch you tube videos on my BB but now I can't, nothing has changed on my phone, except I started using Desktop manager for Mac.  Any idea what would cause this?

My other question is about my OS.  I am currently running version 4.5.0.110, is this the most recent, BB site shows 4.5.0.152, is this new, when I select the wireless upgrade option on my BB nothing is found.  I also read an article about a newer OS on Vodafone (which can be found here (https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=1141938BA2C2B13F5505D7C424EBAE5F)), will this work on a AT&T BB?  Could this possibly be a reason why you tube stopped?

Thank you so much,

Bill C

Re: OS version question and you tube question

You can install another carrier's OS as long as it is for the exact same model phone e.g. 8330 or 8320 and so on. To do it on the MAC, follow the instruction on crackberry: http://crackberry.com/installing-blackberry-hybrid-or-beta-os-mac-desktop-manager

I'm not sure how this is affecting your youtube videos however. When you say "youtube stopped", can you provide more details? What happens when trying to play videos? Any error messages?

Cheers,

Kijana

Re: OS version question and you tube question

I am having the same problem as the previous poster.  I used to be able to watch You Tube videos on my 8330, and now I can't anymore.  I can get to You Tube and search for the videos, but when I click on the "watch video" link, nothing happens.  The browser doesn't attempt to load anything and the Media Player doesn't start.  It had been fine up until a few months ago.  It doesn't appear to affect videos from other sites as I've checked ESPN and various news sites and they all seem to play fine.

Thanks,

David
