Outgoing E Mails

Morning All,

For no apparent reason my Blackberry 9320 has stopped sending my outgoing e mails. The message immediately displays the red X for not sent. I have two e mail accounts and have tried sending on both accounts. I looked through the "manage connections" and "set up" menus and can't find the trouble. At one stage I found a list that indicated that Blackberry Enterprise Server is not connected ( I can't find that now) Could that be the issue?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Jack

Re: Outgoing E Mails

Jack, welcome to the forums.

On your Manage Connections screen, click on the Services Status. What is the status of the BlackBerry Internet Service?

Is this a purely personal device, or is it managed by your employer's corporate IT department with BES enterprise mail?

[ Edited ]

ok.

Follow these instructions:

1) Register HRT: (OS5) Home Screen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scroll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.

2) Resend Service Books: Article ID: KB02830 How to send the service books for a BlackBerry Internet Service account. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830

3) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

Let us know.. good luck.

Re: Outgoing E Mails

Hi Again,

I followed the script and it all worked as advertised. I got notification of registration of the phone and activation server messages for both of my e mail accounts. Unfortunately the problem still exists. One interesting note though, I can reply to incoming e mails with no problem, it is just when I compose and send one that the failure to send occurs. When I send, it looks like it is working, flashing arrow in the upper right hand corner to indicate traffic, a quick view of a tick mark, then the big red X..... Any other ideas?

Thanks, Jack

Re: Outgoing E Mails

Ok.

Open one of those unsent emails.

Scroll up to the headers.

What is the error message there?

Go to Options > Device > Advanced Options > Default Services.

Set your default Messaging service email there.

Re: Outgoing E Mails

It looks like problem solved. When I scrolled up as you suggested it showed that my default outgoing server was the wrong e mail account.... Sent two messages on the proper accounts this morning with no problem. Now just need to figure out how to change the default account.

Thanks ever so much!!

You can change the default here:

Go to Options > Device > Advanced Options > Default Services.
